Color was perfect for St. Patty's day, and would be great for Christmas with a red ribbon around it! It's a canvas type material, so it breathes a bit. As for the sizing, my head measures 22 inches around, above the ears and eyes, and the hat fit perfectly, not too tight. If you have a bigger head, the hat won't sit very far down on your head.
